One in five people are dyslexic. Most of them find out far too late.

We fund the testing and tutoring that families in North Alabama cannot afford, so kids get help before they start believing they are not smart.

What we do

We do not ask for support in the abstract. Each gift covers a specific step for a specific child in Huntsville. Here is what those steps cost.

We fund the testing

A school screening can flag characteristics of dyslexia. It is not a diagnosis. The formal evaluation is private, it costs about $450, and the family pays it. We cover that.

We fund the tutoring

Specialized one-on-one tutoring is what moves a dyslexic reader forward. It runs about $300 a month, plus a $250 annual fee. We fund it so cost is never the reason a child stops.

We fund the full year

Testing plus a year of tutoring for one child is roughly $4,300. That is the entire path, covered, from the first evaluation to the last session.
